The dynamic brake engages instantly and stops the blade from spinning when power is cut from the rock saw. This is an extremely important safety feature. The brake operates at all times when there is no power to the rock saw, which improves ease of handling of the rock saw during transportation to and from the site. Echidna rock saws can provide cutting in either direction, controlled from inside the excavator. This means that spray can be directed away from the excavator or away from nearby property or persons. The compact size of the machine case of Echidna diamond tipped rock saws gives the maximum cutting depth from the blade. Often, this means that a smaller blade can be used. This reduces the cost of consumable parts (small blades are cheaper than large blades) and makes handling and use of the rock saw easier. Echidna diamond tipped rock saws have a short body length which means that the cut can be deeper and narrower especially in trenches. Echidna rock saws have been engineered using state-of-the-art CAD technology to provide a strong, light construction. This is important as they cause less strain on the excavator, allow better cut alignment which means a substantially longer life for your blade. Echidna diamond rock saws do not need to be fitted with a case drain, saving on installation cost and complexity. The rotating stand allows easy regripping of the rock saw for alternate side cutting. With the rotating stand, there is no need to travel around the saw with the excavator. Echidna diamond rock saws come in twin and single blade configurations. Twin blades provide parallel cuts to significantly increase productivity during trenching operations. The fast blade rotation of Echidna diamond rock saws maximises cutting efficiency, lowering cutting costs and increasing overall productivity. Echidna diamond saws come with high quality blades and cutting stones, to provide long life for your blade. The design of the bearing assembly is such that the motor bearings do not support any load. This means that there is little chance of motor bearing failure, high reliability on low servicing costs. The built in water nozzle provides effective blade cooling in most circumstances, without somebody standing by with a hose. The optional inbuilt motor and oil cooler allows the rock saw to operate for longer hours in heavy duty applications and/or hot climates. By providing accurate adjustment to power and oil flow to the diamond rock saw, the motor speed sensor provides greater efficiency in rock cutting. The optional hydraulic test points allow in-field problem solving, reducing down time. Echidna diamond rock saws have been designed to give easy access to all parts that require servicing, leaving the sealed parts uncompromised.Features and Advantages of Echidna Diamond Blade Rock Saws

Echidna has probably the best and safest shield system available for diamond blade rock saws. The system consists of two independent assemblies, inner shield and outer guard.
The outer guard can be removed to facilitate cutting along a boundary wall, while the inner guard still provides for essential safety.
The inner shield is mounted on the central bearing assembly of the rock saw and can be roatated by 360 degrees, whilst the outer guard is located on slots that allow it to rotate independently of the rock saw around the inner shield, thus providing for unprececented flexibility and angle of coverage.

This head bracket allows for rotating the diamond rock saw manually in 90 degree increments while it is still attached to the excavator.
It is possible to swing the rock saw from left cut to right cut without the need to place it on a stand and re-grip.
