Generally, a carbide saw will cut faster in softer or more crumbly materials than a diamond saw, however, the wear on the picks will become excessive with harder and more abrasive materials.

The required depth of cut will determine the size of the blade. Running costs will be lower for smaller blades as the smaller blades are much cheaper per tooth than large blades.

We provide several selection guides to help you to select a saw, however, we recommend that you discuss your options with our distributor. Demo models may be available for comparison.

Selecting the Right Saw

You want to choose the right saw for the work that you wish to perform, considering

not sure if you need a carbide or diamond rock saw?

You may see saws advertised as interchangeable between carbide tipped, diamond and grinder, however it is unlikely that the one saw will provide satisfactory performance for all three, as they have very different operating characteristics. See our Knowledge Corner for more details.
